Fleet mobile

Client – Intellishift

How did Intellishift, a fleet management platform packed with complex, data-heavy workflows, transform an outdated and underutilized mobile app into a modern, scalable product experience?

With the help of strideUX, it quickly evolved into a completely reimagined mobile experience, powered by a brand new design system and a fundamentally different approach to product design.

The need

Intellishift’s mobile app had long lagged behind its web platform. While the core product was powerful, the mobile experience was limited and rarely used by customers who instead defaulted to desktop workflows.

Internally, there was a growing recognition that the mobile app wasn’t just underperforming, it was actively holding back adoption.

At the same time, Intellishift was restructuring parts of its product ecosystem, moving features and redefining how users interacted with their tools. This created a unique opportunity:

Not just to improve the mobile app, but to rethink it entirely.

The challenge

What initially seemed like a light UI refresh quickly revealed itself to be a much deeper need.

The app wasn’t just visually outdated, it lacked the structural foundation needed to accomplish a redesign. With no cohesive design system, limited feature parity with the web app, and an overwhelming amount of data that needed to be presented clearly on smaller screens to drivers mid-trip.

Now with a significant departure from the existing product ahead, stakeholders wanted to ensure the vision was fully realized before broader internal exposure. This meant moving fast, thinking boldly, and delivering something transformative instead of incremental.

The team

Rather than operating as an external vendor, the team functioned as an extension of Intellishift’s team — bringing strategic thinking, design expertise, and rapid execution into every phase of the project.

The process

These calls felt more like design workshops than status updates.” - Intellishift

StrideUX collaborated with Intellishift through weekly working sessions that included real progress, immediate feedback, and often real-time iteration.

A major unlock came through the creation of a fully custom mobile design system.

Built from the ground up in Figma, this system allowed for rapid exploration and iteration during live calls. Components could be adjusted, recombined, and tested instantly, turning conversations into tangible design decisions within minutes.

Beyond structured meetings, collaboration extended into daily communication via Microsoft Teams, along with frequent ad-hoc calls between product and design. These quick touch-points enabled fast decision-making and continuous validation.

What began as a constrained UI improvement effort evolved into a fully reimagined product experience—driven by proactive design thinking rather than predefined requirements.

The outcome

The result was more than a redesigned mobile app, it was a foundational shift in how Intellishift approaches product design.

StrideUX delivered a modern, scalable mobile experience supported by a robust design system that enables future growth and consistency across features.

The app evolved from a limited, underutilized tool into a product that now matches the capabilities of its web counterpart.

Equally important, the project reshaped internal strategy.

Intellishift moved from viewing design as execution to recognizing it as a strategic driver of product innovation.
